Wow, last week was busy.
I spent quite sometime talking to various companies – from pre-funded startups through to international ‘Fortune-500’ companies.
It’s amazing not only the level of opportunity that is currently out there but also the passion and energy that emanates from the people behind those opportunities. It’s infectious and exciting.
You’ll appreciate I can’t go into details of who I’m currently talking to, but here are some of my notes – minus the deets (sorry)…
- All-rounder position at an agile + innovative pre-VC funded startup with an amazing product that I’m pretty sure will be successful. Exciting opportunity, but need to weigh up the risks that are associated with a pre-funded startup.
- Funded startup currently disrupting an already disruptive vertical. Interesting team and again will probably be successful in their objectives.
- Opportunity to work in the research lab of a large blue chip firm. They have an interesting product (+ platform) with much potential. IMHO it needs to be slightly re-propositioned before it goes to market – but that’s interesting because they’d be no point going into something already perfected. Not sure how that will work out because the team have been working on it for a while.
Those are the ones that I’m currently considering and can talk about without giving anything away.
Along the way I’ve also had discussions with some VC firms (and built useful bridges) and also met a lot of entrepeners with early-stage projects that it’s too soon to go into but could make amazing advisory rolls.
I also still have a number of meetings lined up this week, so that list could potentially grow further still!
The great thing about working with start-ups is the ‘many hats’ opportunities that exist – it means I can do a bit of everything – technical architecture, media/blogging/community evangelism, etc – in addition to technical product management and solution design.
And of course, it’s not too late if you want to get in touch! My Resume is available here.
Amazing blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog stand out. Please let me know where you got your theme. Thank you
