That book’s a great read…
Is it? I never actually read it!
Yup. Well, it’s good if you’re twelve. But it’s still good if you’re an adult. The character development, from beginning to end, as these kids get hooked on smack, is really incredible – they end up different people.
It was really controversial when it came out (halfway through the book, drugs seem all cool and dandy), but by the end of the book, it’s a hugely effective (and intelligent) anti-drugs message.
More accessible (and perhaps even more entertaining) than Trainspotting by half…
