BBC is co-sponsoring the We Media 2006 conference, which takes place in London next month.
It’s $795 a ticket, but if that’s not for you I can offer you an alternative:
We’re looking for some clued-up people to take part in a session at the conference in the afternoon on May 3rd.
Basically we want you to sit at tables with attendees and talk about how you use digital media – in particular blogging, downloading tv via bittorrent/p2p*, sharing video via YouTube/etc, online gaming, using sites like Digg, tech.memeorandum etc.
In return we’ll feed you lunch, pay you some money and let you in for the last two sessions of the We Media 2006 Conference. Not bad, eh?
You’ll even get the opportunity to be in the audience for a live broadcast of the BBC’s new interactive World Service radio programme “World Have Your Say” which is partly produced by my good friend Kevin Anderson. It’s going to broadcast live from the conference to a global audience!

* = Don’t worry if this includes downloading copyright-restricted TV. I think the BBC realises that people downloading TV programmes via bit torrent are actually trailblazing a future usage trend and there is much to be learned from their usage patterns. At this kind of event people are going to intrigued rather than concerned to hear about your use.
