Only 13% of Europeans want to watch video on a “portable video player” type device

Jupiter Research analysis suggests that only 13% of Europeans are interested in watching video on a portable device whilst on the move. This contrasts with a third of Europeans from the same sample, who said they would be interested in buying an audio-based portable player (such as an iPod).

All of which goes to show that us early adopters are not always trend setters.

I love my imported Sony Vaio U50, which is a pocket-sized Windows XP computer desgined especially to cater for portable multimedia consumption.

It would appear that devices like this (which are in themselves one step on from portable video players) are a long way of from being released to a European market.
