As a Yahoo! e-mail subscriber, also tied to them by their Smq;; Business Service, I don't want anything to do with a Google or Microsoft owned Tahoo!
MS can't even make a halfway to decent OS, so tell them to keep their noses out! And as for Googlee, I may use their search facilities on my Firefox browser, but their software sucks! I tried their under performing picture editing software, Picasa (so highly praised by so many) and found it to be a load of rubbish, although there were one or two things it did well, if only at the molost basic level.

Well, I guess it was MSFT that made the play.

But what I'm hoping to find out, is how many shares of Yahoo! are already owned by AT&T?

Depending on how you look at the issue, there's a sound case to be made for either Google or Microsoft buying Yahoo! out-right.

And it's not just the search stuff that differentiates Yahoo! these days. As mentioned, there's plenty of social stuff going on. And for me, that's where Yahoo! are showing both Google and Microsoft a clean pair of heals...

Firstly the best answer for Yahoo!'s woes is inside Yahoo! itself. There are some really smart, dedicated bright people in there. The company needs to capture some of the dymanism it has in the US and get it to work in other markets.

I would be more inclined to think that Yahoo! would be ideal target for a private equity firm. Think about the share buy back plan put in place, if you consider equity as debt with no end date, the business continues to demonstrate the kind of cashflow needed for an LBO (leveraged buyout).
