Niall follows his heart and goes solo

Congratulations (I think/hope) to Niall Kennedy who announced he is setting up his own venture to:

“change the way the world thinks about personal data, publishing, and search”

Niall Kennedy

In doing so, Niall also announced he is leaving Microsoft/Windows Live (where he has worked for just over 3 months – a short innings, it has to be said). Robert Scoble has described the announcement as ‘a bummer’.

Niall is also former Technorati employee too.

Despite Robert’s reaction, it sounds to me like Niall has taken some time to work out what his groove is, and I’m really excited for him.

I think now is really the time to be setting up agile, nimble businesses – be they service (TechMeme, TailRank, etc), content (TechCrunch, GigaOm) or consultancy (like Citizen Agency).

It would be fantastic if there is anything Citizen Agency can do for him (or vice-versa).

Anyway, as we say here in London – ‘best of luck to ya mate!’. 🙂
