backstage.bbc.co.uk at the SkillCity conference, London

I’ll be at the London SkillCity conference on Saturday 9th July, promoting careers at the BBC and in the industry as a whole. BBC News and Sport will have a massive stand as part of their summer road show tour of the country (imaginably called “BBC News and Sport on Tour”!).

SkillCity is a free career’s event, held at the Excel Centre in East London. The official website describes the event as follows:

SkillCity London 2005, the UK’s biggest ever national interactive careers and training event for young people, will be held at the ExCel exhibition centre in London’s Docklands from 6th-9th July 2005. Around 120,000 visitors aged between 12 and 30 are expected to pass through its doors to uncover the wealth of skills-based career opportunities that vocational training has to offer.

Officially, I’m rep’ing my old job as a software engineer at BBC News, but clearly backstage.bbc.co.uk is a excellent opportunity if you’re an aspiring developer or designer to get closer to the industry etc.

If you’re coming, do come by the BBC stand and say hello!
